Lawyer to Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra [IPOB] has announced that the Buhari dictatorship, through its agents, the State Security Services [SSS] has aggressively barred the IPOB leader from signing a consular assistance form sent by the Government of the United Kingdom through the British High Commission in Nigeria. The Consular Assistance form authorises the British Government to take action on behalf of the IPOB leader who is also a British citizen.
The desperate move by the Nigerian Government was announced today, July 19 by Aloy Ejimako, one of Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyers.
The UK Government had stepped in to offer assistance to Kanu following the criminal abduction of the IPOB leader from Kenya after he had travelled to the East African country with a British passport.
CitizensAlert has reported on several occasions how Kanu was kidnapped by Kenyan Special Police Force working in cahoots with Nigerian forces, detained in a private apartment in Nairobi, severely tortured in violation of his fundamental rights before he was handed over to the Nigerian authorities.
The manner of his arrest, which cannot be described as an extradition after the Nigerian government violated international laws in abducting Kanu, has been generating a lot of controversies.
The recent action by the Nigerian Government of dictator Buhari is also in violation of Kanu’s rights, something for which the Buhari dictatorship has gained considerable notoriety.
Nnamdi Kanu is being persecuted for asking for a referendum for Biafra, similar to the one recently carried out in the United Kingdom where Scotland voted to remain part of the UK.
