Ogbanna Nwuke, who recently resigned his position as Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress [APC] in Rivers State, has announced his defection from the party.
Addressing pressmen in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital, the former spokesman of the ruling repressive party said that he decided to quit because of the marginalisation of Etche people by the Buhari-led dictatorship.
Nwuke said he had not decided on his next political alignment but failed to rule out the possibility of joining the People’s Democratic Party [PDP] when he claimed that he was ready to align with those who are willing to develop Etche.
He said for more than six years of the Buhari dictatorship, the people of Etche were yet to feel the impact of the federal government, especially in the appointment, empowerment and infrastructural development. He insisted it was wrong for him to continue to associate with a political party that promised change to his people but never bothered to actualise it.
Rounding off, the former spokesman claimed the party is better off today than when he took over the affairs of information management.
Despite promising “change,” the All Progressives Congress [APC] led by dictator Buhari has refused to implement any of its promises, imposing one anti-people policy after another. The party has also distanced itself from all the promises it made to Nigerians, a confirmation that the promises were fraudulent and only served as a vehicle of deception to get to power.
