“Buhari Must Go” protests have been intensifying on social media in recent weeks, before ultimately heating up following the abduction of schoolgirls from Government Girls Science Secondary School, Jangebe, Zamfara State.
Besides hashtags, flyers have also surfaced online with a clear message – demanding an end to the Buhari regime.
In one protest video seen by CitizensAlert, infuriated Nigerian youth placed an imaginary Buhari on nailed pieces of wood and had him wrapped up with a white material before “burying” him whilst chanting:
“Buhari must go! Buhari must go!”
The young men also asked if Nigeria had a president, to which they responded with a resounding “NO!”
Buhari was elected to exterminate Boko Haram (and all other forms of terrorism), strangle corruption and boost Nigeria’s dwindling economy. Ironically, Nigeria under dictator Buhari has become worse in every sphere of human existence whilst Buhari himself appears totally lost about how to confront Nigerian problems. Terrorists now walk on the streets in broad daylight kidnapping law-abiding citizens and schoolchildren with unmitigated impunity.
Also, under dictator Buhari, Nigerians have lost their rights to freely exercise their fundamental human rights – in a constitutional democracy! Peaceful protesters, critics, journalists now get arrested, detained, dehumanised and slammed with trumped-up charges for merely exercising their constitutional rights whilst the regime sits on the table to negotiate ransoms with terrorists they were elected to violently crush.
The irony is unspeakable!
