Yomi Alliyu [SAN], who is the lead counsel to pan-Yoruba activist Sunday Igboho, has disclosed that his client was arrested by INTERPOL [International Criminal Police Organisation] whilst trying to fly to Germany through Benin Republic along with his wife, Ropo.
The senior lawyer disclosed this in a statement Today, July 20.
The lawyer said that Igboho was arrested at the airport on Monday night through the collaboration of the Buhari dictatorship and INTERPOL.
The Senior Advocate expressed shock over the arrest of his client and called on the German Government [where Igboho is also a citizen], Benin Republic and the international community to rise quickly and curb the arrogance and impunity of the Buhari dictatorship by refusing an application for the extradition of Sunday Igboho who the lawyer disclosed already has an application before the International Criminal Court [ICC] duly acknowledged.
As previously reported by CitizensAlert, Sunday Igboho went underground since July 1, 2021 when men of Nigeria’s State Security Services [SSS] criminally invaded his residence and extrajudicially killed several people.
