The Buhari dictatorship has compelled Landmark, an event centre based in Lagos to cancel #EndSARS Summit earlier scheduled to hold at the venue on October 20, 2021.
The event, tagged Sorosoke Summit, was scheduled to hold at the venue in commemoration of the 1st anniversary of the #EndSARS protest. It was also planned to honour peaceful protesters who were killed at the Lekki Tollgate by Nigerian soldiers on the order of dictator Buhari during the peaceful protest which held across Nigeria in October of 2020.
Billed to grace the event was the Ooni of Ife Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, who was expected to be a keynote speaker at the event.
Owners of the event, under intense pressure from the Buhari dictatorship, cancelled the event which was billed to commence by 11:30 AM on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 as Buhari continues to violate citizens’ constitutional rights to freedom of expression and peaceful assembly.
Recall that on the evening of Tuesday, October 20, 2020, dictator Buhari ordered soldiers to open gunfire on peaceful protesters who were seated on the floor singing the national anthem and waving the national flag at the Lekki Tollgate in Lagos, killing and undisclosed number and stealing victims’ corpses to conceal evidence.
During a national address two days later on October 22, 2020 which came after pressure from members of the public, the dictator refrained from mentioning the Lekki Massacre in his speech, but curiously condemned the mild invasion into the Palace of the Oba of Lagos.
In an interview with Arise TV on June 10, 2021, dictator Buhari claimed without evidence that peaceful #EndSARS protesters wanted to march to Abuja to remove him from power, which was apparently why he ordered that they be shot to death.
General Yusuf Tukur Buratai, Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff at the time who directly supervised the gruesome murder of the innocent protesters has since been rewarded with another appointment despite having retired from service.
