Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has sent a warning to Nigerians against killing or dying for politicians as the 2023 general elections approaches.

“If you take a look at Ekiti governors: Segun Oni, Ayo Fayose and the present governor Kayode Fayemi, they governed the state at different times but they were not necessarily in the same party. Therefore, those of you who are willing to sacrifice your lives because of we politicians, be careful, as none is worth dying for.
“People should not lose their lives because of politics. We are headed towards the the election period and I needed to use this opportunity to appeal to you all.
“If you take a look at this marriage, the bride and the groom are from Christian and Muslim families. That also means that people who desire to fight on the basis of religion are advised to have a rethink
“I would like to congratulate Olamide and Oluwalonigba. They have just started the beginning of a journey that I hope produces male and female children,” the governor said.
