Police in Ghana have arrested some members of the Indigenous People of Biafra [IPOB] during a meeting in the country’s capital, Accra.
The police reportedly invaded the venue of the group’s monthly meeting which held at Mallam Junction on Sunday, August 29, arresting an undisclosed number of IPOB members.
No reason was given for the arrest.
The arrested IPOB members were chanting pro-Biafran songs as they were being led away to a police station in Accra where their details were profiled.
Recall that in 2017, the Buhari dictatorship hurriedly and without fair hearing, proscribed IPOB activities in Nigeria, claiming without proof that it was a terrorist organisation despite the fact that the group is an organisation advancing the agitations for the actualisation of the proposed Republic of Biafra.
Since dictator Buhari took power through false pretenses, Fulani terrorists masquerading as herdsmen have been maiming, kidnapping, raping and killing innocent people with absolute impunity in towns and villages, yet dictator Buhari has looked the other way, pretending to be oblivious of these massive crimes by his kinsmen.
The dictator has also rebuffed several calls asking him to proscribe Fulani terrorists over their atrocities but he has bluntly refused. On the contrary, he has defended the terrorists’ atrocities through baseless press statements.
