Shehu Sani, who represented Kaduna Central Senatorial District at the 8th Assembly, has announced his intention to run for the governorship election in Kaduna in 2023.
Shehu Sani made the declaration in a radio interview in Kaduna, where he stated that with the people on his side, he will run for the office even without the money to throw around.
“Anyone who disrespects or embarrasses the people is not worthy to be in power because showing respect to people is very important even in religion.”
He said the People’s Democratic Party [PDP] ought to unite its members in their determination to form a government that will respect the will and desires of the poor in the state.
He said he sat down with his supporters and loyalists who urged him to run for the governorship election, and that he agreed to enable him remove the All Progressives Congress [APC]. He said God willing, the “anointed” candidate of the state’s mini-tyrant Nasir El-Rufai will be defeated at the polls so that he will clean the dirt caused by the incumbent governor.
Sani, a foremost human rights activist, also promised security, stressing that it is what his supporters want, and that he assured them he’ll run for the governorship election under the PDP.
He called on residents to join him in his bid to liberate the state from years of unrestrained pillaging.
He solicited the prayers of marketers, physically challenged citizens, religious leaders, women and youth.
“You have a duty to reject the anointed candidate of those who demolished your houses. Support us to form a government that will respect the will and desire of the poor in the state,” Sani told residents.
The activist explained that he does not have the money with which to bribe delegates to vote for him, insisting that the country is in its knees because of money politics.
