There was a moment of apprehension and commotion at the National Youth Service Corps [NYSC] orientation camp in Ogun State as a cow invaded the parade ground and disrupted activities by corps members.
The incident took place on Wednesday, August 11, in Sagamu area of Ogun State, Ikenne Road, where the NYSC camp is located.
As the cow roamed about as if in search for a victim, it took the intervention of military officers at the orientation ground, along with some courageous corps members to catch and subdue it.
There have been several controversies in Nigeria with respect to cattle rearing as Fulani herdsmen invade people’s farms at will, destroy them and kill farm owners who dare to challenge them for grazing on their farms.
These dangerous herdsmen became even more emboldened with the emergence of their kinsman dictator Muhammadu Buhari as Nigeria’s president. The tyrant has protected all Fulani herdsmen despite their atrocities throughout Nigeria, taking over people’s villages and farms, and destroying them as desired. All of this happen with the active collaboration of the police and military.
Since dictator Buhari assumed office as president, Nigerians have been of the opinion that the dictator has more respect for cows than human lives as he is quick to go haywire when news of cattle rustling appear in the media but goes mute when Fulani herdsmen kill people for refusing to let them destroy their crops and feed same to their cattle.
