There was tension at the Federal High Court, Abuja Division, after Nigeria’s lawless secret police, the Department of State Services [DSS] arrived the court with 8 out of the 12 Yoruba Nation activists, days after Justice Obiora Egwatu had compelled the lawless agency to provide the activists today, August 2.
The DSS, a security unit which has gained considerable notoriety for its outright lawlessness, barred journalists from accessing the courtroom to cover the proceedings involving the Yoruba Nation activists, who have been illegally detained since July 1 for no known offence
As officers of the anarchistic security unit blocked the entrance to the court, voices could be heard saying quite loudly:
“Allow journalists to do their work. This is a public place and you cannot intimidate journalists here. What is the meaning of all this? Allow them to do their work.”
Since dictator Buhari assumed office in May 2015, the DSS, along with other security agencies in Nigeria, have become considerably lawless, attacking and killing innocent Nigerians with unmitigated impunity.
The DSS, a notorious security agency, is also notorious for flouting court orders and promoting anarchy in Nigeria.
See the video below how this lawless agency criminally barred journalists from accessing a courtroom to carry out their constitutional duties.
